Three's a Crowd Pleaser /// Autumn wardrobe

I rarely do fashion/outfit posts but with the change of weather it's only natural to have the urge to update one's wardrobe. It's been beautiful in Edinburgh this autumn; crisp and fresh, with glorious, albeit low level, sunshine and blue skies. Colour blocking, animal print and British patriotism (it's been a big year) in one look. Too much? No way...

La Maison D'Anna G.

It's time to polish up on your French as, Paris based, Scandinavian design lover, Anna, of the gorgeous blog 'La Maison D'Anna G', has opened an online shop with the same name. Stocked to the hilt with interior goodies from the likes of Hay, By Nord and Afroart, along with pieces by some awesome designers, the shop has a strong Scandinavian influence, as does Anna, having been born in Sweden. It's been difficult to choose but here are some of my favourite bits and pieces available....

Beady Beauties

Check out this jewellery by Alyson Fox, an Austin, Texas-based maker, sculptor, designer, photographer, artist... it seems there's very little she can't do. My favourite is the cobalt blue geometry pendant...I never get bored of that colour! Oh, and the awesome pattern is an excerpt from a print of hers which is sold out everywhere...obviously.

Voyages over Edinburgh

I'm on a little roll, show casing home grown talent...so...take a look at the illustrations of Edinburgh born Architecture student David Fleck. I spotted this print on a larger scale in the window at Curiouser and Curiouser on Broughton Street a while back and fell in love but didn't have time to stop in and get it.
What's not to like? Monochrome Edinburgh skyline with gloriously colourful hot air balloons floating over head.
Here's David's story behind it...


'In the winter of 1785 in Edinburgh, all the shops closed for a day and over 80,000 people gathered in the grounds of my old school, George Heriot’s, to watch the incredible spectacle of Vincenzo Lunardi taking one of the world's first ever balloon rides. The whole town caught balloon fever, with Scottish women even wearing large balloon shaped bonnets they named after the famous aeronaut.'

Bold Bedding

I've been thinking all things bedroom recently as I'm keen to transform ours from the dumping ground it's become over the years. ...In stark contrast to my previous post,  and as much as that Aspen ski lodge bedroom would be a dream to go to sleep in, I've been erring towards injecting a little bit of fun into my own. Layered patterns and bright colours have been catching my eye...but more on that at a later date...
I saw this bedding, by Thomas Paul, a while back and was blown away. I've always had a penchant for all things nautical but I've been trying to think if I always had a thing for large scale safari animals or if it's just something that's come along, with the children's books and imagery, since having Sebastian.
Either way I freaking LOVE this massive elephant print duvet cover.

Etiquette

My husband very almost convinced me that I made up the rule about cheese; ever since we first shared a cheese plate and I was outraged by his confident mutilation of the stinky, yet sacred tip of the triangle. Due to his bewildering ignorance I actually started to believe that maybe I had dreamt up such an infringement of a social situation.

...he still takes the 'nose' of the triangle, every time, just to see the shocked look on my face...
