Framed

I know...it's already the 7th January. It took me a while to get back in the swing of things after enjoying lots of family time. I hope everyone has detoxed, recovered, purged the Christmas tat and already broken all resolutions ready for another fun filled year ahead?!
To take us all into the new year I want to share some predictions of interior trends with you over the next few posts; Something I was asked to write about recently for a local property paper, soon to be published.
I think we'll be seeing lots of beautiful metal framed pieces, powder coated in black or white, or bare naked brass, copper or steel, like these incredible lights by Iacoli & McAllister. I love the simplicity of the single pendant and the drama of the cluster but the two piece is my absolute favourite.
I've seen tables, lighting and and  accessories already and still haven't seen a single metal framed item I didn't like! I have my eye on a white powder coated frame coffee table from Catalog pictured in a previous post (more to come on that very soon). My letter to santa must have gone awray because it wasn't in my stocking on the 25th...

Cabin Fever

Take a look at the beautiful photographs, by Brian Ferry of The Blue Hour, of his friend's cabin in the Angeles National Forest in southern California. Quite possibly the perfect and most whimsical place to spend the festive period. Where ever you're spending yours, I hope you have a lovely family friends and food filled few days. Merry Christmas. x

Lindsey Adelman

Incredible lighting by Lindsey Adelman. If I was ever to describe lighting as sexy, this would be it. Sexy.

Amagansett Beach House

I think I've dreamt of this beach house...If I haven't I will now. If I can't live there, it's what I want my dreams to be made of.

Nursery Envy

I had to post this awesome nursery even though you've probably seen it. It's a collaboration between Sharon Montrose of The Animal Print Shop and interiors genius, Morgan Satterfield of The Brick House. The photographs were taken by the uber-talented, Laure Joliet.
The routered wall is brilliant isn't it? These images are definite keepers for anyone up the duff, looking for inspiration for a non-gender-specific nursery. And...it doesn't even belong to a baby! It was designed and set up to promote Sharon Montrose's work and there's still time (till the end of today (America time)) to enter the giveaway to win that chair, that cot and $1000 worth of those animal pictures!

Summer Lovin'

I know, I know...I have to give it up...summer has gone...but...
I had to share the work of Philip Barlow discovered via the lovely Bradford aka 'Uncle Beefy' of The Bedlam of Beefy. I've been back to Bedlam a lot this week to stare at these glistening beach scenes. It's my last ditched attempt to bask in the glorious evening sunshine of summer...even though we didn't have much here this year.
Check out Barlow's full portfolio here...you won't regret it, it's beautiful.

Beady Beauties

Check out this jewellery by Alyson Fox, an Austin, Texas-based maker, sculptor, designer, photographer, artist... it seems there's very little she can't do. My favourite is the cobalt blue geometry pendant...I never get bored of that colour! Oh, and the awesome pattern is an excerpt from a print of hers which is sold out everywhere...obviously.

Dreaming...

I know, I know...you think you've seen that bedroom before. Well...you have. Here. I thought you might be interested in what comes with the dream bedroom...
Yep, you guessed it; a dream ski lodge in Aspen...owned by Aerin Lauder, featured in Vogue.

American Designers at Home

Ever wondered where Tommy Hillfiger's 'magic happens'...where Ralph Lauren dumps his boots after a long day 'mucking out' the stables on his Colorado ranch; where Donna Karan rinses the sea water off her bikini when, at her holiday home in Parrot Cay? All is revealed in 'American Designers at Home' from Assouline; a coffee table staple.
A sneak peek into a (few) handful(s) of American fashion designers' super styled homes:
Book cover & Ralph Lauren's dining room,
Diane Von Fustenburg's living room,
Mark Badgley and James Mischka's dining room library
Betsy Johnson's dining room
Oscar de la Renta's gaff
