Summer Lovin'

I know, I know...I have to give it up...summer has gone...but...
I had to share the work of Philip Barlow discovered via the lovely Bradford aka 'Uncle Beefy' of The Bedlam of Beefy. I've been back to Bedlam a lot this week to stare at these glistening beach scenes. It's my last ditched attempt to bask in the glorious evening sunshine of summer...even though we didn't have much here this year.
Check out Barlow's full portfolio here...you won't regret it, it's beautiful.

A little bit of sunshine...

So, that's it. It's the end of August and we didn't get a massive amount of sunshine (nor did I get much blogging done, sorry!). If you follow me on Instagram (@yeahokbye) you'll know that I unabashedly wear my Havaianas in the rain (it's a skill) and you will learn that I abstain from socks till well into the autumnal months. A stranger once commented on my stubborn footwear ways in late October.
So, in the spirit of ignoring the chill, already in the air, I've compiled a little collection of yellow brights to add a ray or two to your home (and handbag collection - I can't help myself).
A little splash of colour on a neutral palette can lift an entire room. From neon to mustard, if any colour can do it, yellow can!

Rattattaaaaan!

Ok, so I know that our summer so far hasn't got anyone in the mood for garden furniture but I've seen some pretty funky rattan about recently...none so funky as the Marni collection, however. Trademark colour blocking in this summer's super hot hues mixed up with mid-century shapes...Marni have nailed it! It's a rattan revival! Seriously though, these chairs are part of a project; they're made by Colombian prisoners as part of a rehabilitation programme. Find out more here.

Summer, Sea and Ice Cream

We were at Crammond beach at the weekend in 25 degree heat (v. hot for Scotland) with Kingston. We had ice cream from a van after standing in a very long queue, and walked over to Crammond island when the tide was out...we didn't, however, look as cool as these guys...

Wedding Inspiration

I feel the time has come that I can confess that I made a wedding inspration board. Don't judge me. In my defence, being an interior designer I have to create these for all the projects I work on and they are always invaluable, not only to the client but to me too. It helped to get everything out of my head/magazines/hard drive and give the venue dressers a clearer idea of what I was blabbering on about. Also, in my defence, it worked and everything was exactly as we wanted...one day I might post some of the official photos.
Here it is...a Scottish summer wedding...

I tried so hard not to be a bridezilla but my family, now husband and especially bridesmaids may tell you I 'left the building' for a couple of months before the big day. I'm back now though and am forever indebted to those who stood by me through my emotional blackout x
